I bought this book because I was about to start school to become a nurse. I wanted some insight and informations as to what being a nurse is all about and what I can expect during school and after graduation. This book does a wonderful job of explaining the process which students will go through to become successful nurses. I'm really happy I got this book because now I know what I'm getting myself into and what I can expect for the next 2-3 years.

Great for the young college student only

This is a great book if you're a high schooler or young adult trying to make a decision about nursing school and how to actually go about it - great tips and guidance. However, if you're like me, a 40 year old already with a bachelors and lots of life experience and looking for a career change, it's not a strong book. It doesn't offer a lot for the individual looking to go back to school. It seems geared towards those who are younger and have not had any college experience. If you're like me, meet with an academic advisor at a nursing school and do some online research...save your money on this one. But if you are a high schooler, this is a great book and a good place to start examining a nursing education.

I have been debating whether to go back to school for nursing for a while now and this book has really helped me. It gives the reader insightful knowledge into the world of nursing through the experience of actual nurses who have been there and understand what it is like. I had a feeling that nursing school would be hard but hearing the insights from actual students helps me channel the information and realize the focus that is necessary to really make it in this career. Over all I would reccommend this book to anyone considering going into this field. The insider information provided should really help you understand if this is for you or not.
